A downloadable game

Game Description:

Birdie Bliss is a casual mini-golf game that encourages players to embark on a journey of skill, strategy, and sportsmanship, not just on the greens but also in vibrant cities and exotic lands! Ready your club and try to set a new record on our courses!

How to Play:

Compete against a friend in local multiplayer and try to get the lowest number of putts possible!

Left-click on a surface in front of the ball and wait for its power to reach a suitable level to move it.

Hold right-click and drag around the move to move the camera

Press ESCAPE to pause the game

There are some items /obstacles in this game. The items  (stars/boxes ) will remove one from the overall score! The obstacles will stop all movement and/or cause you to respawn.

Post Mortem:

We were able to get rid of most bugs, and the integration of everything went well! We were building multiple parts of the project on different computers, so we were worried the integration part would be the most troublesome, but we just turned the “non-important” things into packages and imported them to the main version of the project. The UI turned out better than we expected, and we were able to find assets that matched the aesthetic we were looking for overall!

Some issues that were quickly uncovered were the lack of communication between team members and version control. Not everything was communicated properly, and not everyone participated. Because of this, there were only three people working on the core mechanics of the game for the entire semester. Due to the team using GitHub and not everyone understanding how to use it, we almost lost the entire project. We were able to fix this problem, but we had to move everything we had to a new repo, so in the end, it was not that inconvenient. Everyone found something to do in the end, so the lack of communication was not a huge issue in the end.

We decided to make some changes to the overall structure of the game. It went from a single-player game to a local multiplayer game to make it more interesting. This project taught the group a lot. For most, it was our first using unity, but we tried to make it work. We also learned how to use Github and Github Desktop to make version control and collaboration a lot easier.
